The School District of Newberry County will be hosting our annual mass pre-participation exam day on Saturday, May 2, 2026 at Newberry High School. This pre-participation exam will carry your child through the 2026-2027 school year. A new physical is necessary to be able to participate in any sporting activities starting after May 1st. These pre-participation exams should not replace your child’s yearly wellness exam with a pediatrician!!! It is important that the Pre-Participation Exam form and Consent form are signed and dated. You should receive these forms through your school’s athletic trainer or athletic director. All forms must be completed in their entirety prior to arrival, including medical history and signatures, or no pre-participation exam will be given.
The cost for the physical is $25. If for any reason an athlete is not cleared during our pre-participation exam, the athlete will be given a Follow-Up Form with an explanation of why he/she was not cleared, and referral information. All original paperwork from this event will be kept the day of the event and then returned to the school’s athletic trainer/athletic director. Please reach out to your school for copies if you would like a copy of your athlete’s paperwork. As well, everyone will be required to upload all necessary paperwork on our digital platform, ArbriterSports. We ask that all athletes wear comfortable sports attire (i.e. shorts, t-shirts, tennis shoes, etc.). This allows the individual to perform basic movements required during the screening process. We kindly ask that your athletes minimize cell phone usage, and other electronic devices to create a more efficient screening process. Please turn in your paperwork and money to the athletic director by April 29 th . For any questions, please contact your school’s athletic trainer or athletic director.
